YAY!!! i din get into the dumb dumb ji xun, but hope the rest do well. lan lan was trying to make it sound lyk we were dying to get in liddat. haha. not that i hate doing ji xun. itz fun, BUT i noe i cannot make it, coz sure xiao chang wan, so might as well let the others go and win it for us. btw, the first prize is 200bucks. jiayou guys!!!
yes, i have a throbbing headache here and yet here i am trying to cram the logic of locus into my already worn out brain and listening to my oh-so-favourite planetshakers music.
i dont get the point of studying maths anw, why do ppl make such a big deal about it? anw, i have my mind set that whatever i do in life, it will not be more complicated than the four basic operations. i mean, how many of our parents use log and dy/dx anw? unless they're a maths teacher or sth...
and yah, here i am critisizing the education system again. seems that it's a very good thing to critisize abt. esp since that all students in ahs have to take TWO maths for o levels which totally does not make sense because nobody takes more than ONE maths in JC unless he's a psycho and not at all in the case of poly students. i mean, itz only useful if u wan2 be an engineer or mathematician, an occupation, which in singapore, means no food to eat unless u're an assessment book writer and in that case u will earn millions of dollars from the pockets of the ever-kiasu singaporean parents. that aside. here i am questioning the need to take maths, and two of them at the same time. so far all that i have studied in amaths, i guarantee u at least 75% will be forgotten by the time i finish serving my NS. well, i've already forgotten half of last year's syllabus! i seriously dont see the need to study maths at this level. tell me how many occupations require the person to be skilled in binomial expansions or triganometric functions? even accountants only need to use plus, minus, times, divide...im sure all reading will be in agreement with me unless u're mr choo, chen, poh, etc. ppl who have tried to enforce this terrible study of numbers and operations into my life...
oh well, what to do. we in singapore have no choice but to follow what the gahmen says is best for us. and btw, since the gahmen says no political commentary during election period, im gonna put in my two cents worth before elections begin and say that i hope PAP wins in my constituency but loses some seats to the opposition coz i hope to see multiple parties in parliament. fair enuf? hope i dont appear in the court pages in the papers...so with that kind of mentality, no wonder the opposition has no hope of putting in a strong win. haha. good luck to them, but they're a bunch of brave guys, non-conformists. jaz lyk wad lee kuan yew was back in the good ol days.
back to school stuff, the midyear for the chi and eng papers are in april. good luck sia. few days left to midyear and here i am still slacking. haiz...wish me luck.
next time i post: more new abt midyear. hopefully it'll be good news...
