Founders' Day 2006 was great and i almost didnt make it.

Let me relate the story to u, and it all revolves around dear ol' mdm sim. at first, she signed me up for this dumb current affairs quiz at RJC without telling me. and the quiz was today (founders' day), which meant i had to miss the celebrations, something i really didnt want because this is the golden jubilee celebrations and my last founders' day as a student. but, in the name of responsibility, i went ahead.

we arranged to meet at 7.30am at tampines mrt. which meant i had to wake up at 6am to get myself ready, since tampines is so inconvenient for me. but never mind, i still went ahead. we took a cab to RJC. the place is really nice, seems high class, but also feels like a pressure-cooker. you can feel the RJC pressure-cooker atmosphere by just being there, even on a saturday morning. so we reached there half an hour early because mdm sim told us the wrong time. so we waited. then, at 9, when we went to register, we were told that mdm sim did not send in the confirmation, which meant we were not officially registered for the competition. so we went all the way back to school for founders' day. WHAT A WASTE OF TIME!

nevermind, im just glad i made it back for founders' day. the speeches were, as usual boring. the concert part was slightly more entertaining. congrats to qixiang who did a solo! i nearly got went into spasm when he did that coz he doesnt sing solo normally, but this time he did it in front of the whole school. ED and CD werent that good, i have to admit. the video presentation was funny.

but most impressive was the finale. it was the perfect ending. a very grand, celebratory atmosphere. when we were singing 'higher ground' and when all the party poppers popped out, it was realli impressive and i felt so proud to be an ahs student.
