sat, comm interview. i had to go to school at 6.45am to interview the zhong ers who wan to get into comm. i mean 6.45! in the morning! arrrrgh...and to add insult to injury, the stupid chang cheng gate was locked, which meant i had to go one big round to go to the main gate. it didnt help that the interview was extremely boring. afterwards, we went to 85 for brunch and to discuss about the new comm placings. after that, i went home, meaning to study, alas, sleep got the better of me and i gave in to my slumber, so i slept until about 6. i was rudely woken up by my brother who told me it was time to go for service. (we had a special service on saturday, with rev david storer.) so i woke up, got changed and left for church, when i came back, i was too sianded to do any revision, so i ended up watching those late night movies on channel 8, the really old ones that they only show on saturday nights. after that, nitey nite.
sunday, church in the morning as usual. after church, we went to the mecure hotel to eat this thai a la carte buffet which was really kind of good, if you ignored some of the really weird dishes. i had 8 pieces of chocolate fudge cake. it was splendid. that's not important. the highlight of sunday was the esplanade concert: en suelo mas alto. i met cheng you and jason at around 4, except that cheng you came late, as usual. i went to get the presents for welfare, den just rotted around marina square, doing absoulutely nothing useful to mankind. we were just walking around, looking at some stuff and mulling about how limited our finances were...
time for the concert per se. we arrived just before the concert started, as usual. i mean, why come early? good thing i knew there was a direct way from marina to the esplanade, if not we would be going all the way back to citylink, which would be really dumb. so, back to the concert. it was very professionally done and i thought it was just an amazing night for anglican high. like that feeling of: we've made it, and we're going on to more. it was a milestone for the school and personally for many of the perfomers. to perform at singapore's premier arts venue speaks volumes of an organisation's ability, commitment, as well as influence. that anglican high could put up a good 2-hour show, using mainly student performers, entertaining a nearly sold-out crowd, is a major acheivement in itself. that night, i felt proud to be part of this event, thinking that it may not take place in a long, long time.
monday was welfare outing. i rushed in the morning to buy the food and cook it, after oversleeping. it was a mad, mad rush to cook to food and then get changed up, packed and out of the house. i reached half an hour late. i expected to be late, yet i did not expect to be so late. did not really matter coz the juniors were an hour late also. we did some treasure-hunting, then went to the beach to chill out. it was almost literally chilling out since it was raining periodically and the wind was super strong. still, we had fun, swimming, playing frisbee, soccer, monkey, volleyball, and capt ball. it was intimate, yet at the same time, not exactly happening. but ultimately, we had fun with each other, i guess that was the most important part.
im gonna miss welfare. i've said this a gazillion times, and i'll say it again. they're just the best. after we bade farewell to most of the welfareans, who had to return home, we went to palawan to say hi to rne and pub, but we ended up taking photos and going with them back to the mainland. (or mainisland, since there isnt much land). i had dinner with soo hwee, chinmeng, kayhowe and andrew, then we went home. we were all so tired. sure it was tiring, but it was fun.
well, nothing much to talk about now. i wont be back in a long while i guess, since we're entering the home stretch, the final month before prelims roll in on Sept 11 (what an auspicious date...) i'll be coming on once in a while, but not as often...
cya, God bless and take care.
it's been fun. =)
