it's here again, they've done it again.

tis' the season to be smoky...cough cough cough cough cough, sneeze sneeze sneeze...

according to what we learn in elect geog, the haze is caused when farmers who practice shifting cultivation (primarily from indonesia), start 'moving house' and stake out new territory to grow crops and earn a livelihood. to ensure that they have land, they choose a plot and burn down all the trees in the land to clear it. when they burn it, it produces smoke, which accumulates in the atmosphere, and following the wind, gets blown to places around the region, blanketing them with a layer of haze, just like what we're having in singapore now.

can't the government of indonesia do something? like ban burning or something, take a leaf from our government's book, fine those ppl or something. true, they depend on such a mode of farming for a living, but i'm sure something could be arranged. move them to offshore islands and cultivate crops there instead of letting them burn away precious rainforest, destroying plant life and animal habitats. it's all a matter of survival of the fittest. man knows how to make fire, and animals cant possibly control the weather, so this is what happens. what if animals could talk? what would they say? if they had our brains, we would be mincemeat faster than anyone could say mincemeat. maybe if animals ruled the world, it would be a better Earth? but it was not meant to be. according to the Bible, man was created and given the authority to rule over all animals. so that's the way it works.

anyway, the haze sucks and i hope it goes away soon. it looks alot like hongkong in singapore now...

i heard that study break is only for those with L1R5 below 10. (LATEST NEWS!)-decision made by boonie today. guess that means i have a study break to look forward to. anw, those i dont think anybody will care, they'll just pon and then they will have to call for a study break anws...
