just dont feel like sleeping...
i skipped school today. just didn't feel like going. i know i shouldnt have, yet i was just too lazy...
anw, my last post i promised i will blog about mr lee's wedding. but before we get there, let's talk about my adventure at vivocity.
the first thing you notice about vivocity when you walk in is its sheer size. to give you a little something to compare with, vivocity is the size of Suntec City and Orchard Tang's COMBINED. call that huge or what. still, it didnt feel very big to me. possibly because it's wide instead of tall. suntec gives you that BIG feeling coz it has height, but vivocity is quite short. but you cannot deny that it is massive. and it has nice architecture. i like the fact that they used green, i think that's the colour that really suits it. the design of the mall to make it look like a huge wave is also nice. most singapore malls are box and squarish, but vivocity is very wavy, making it very interesting...
i would give it full marks for the outdoor rooftop area. it is just unlike anything in singapore. go to the roof and you are greeted by the sight of an artificial beach. and a beautiful view of sentosa. except, the day that i went, it was the day of the worst haze in singapore in 9 years. the PSI was at 120 or 130 and peaked at 150 at night...it looked so beautiful, with the haze making it look all foggy like genting, but you knew that it was impossible to have fog in singapore, and the blurry scene was actually a deadly mix of CO, SO2, O3, NO2, C8H18 and other pollutants...but i imagine that the view will be very nice without the haze.
i went early with sok, kelly, huiyin, josh and shyang long to make mr lee's wedding gift, a huge photo mosaic of 3J photos. i would have to say that it looked quite nice. but to be very truthful, it was the three girls who were doing most of the work. shyang long did more than josh and i, who were very much slacking and making countless trips to the big bookshop to buy stuff for the present. i think we spent too much time in the open, with the haze hitting ultra-high levels. we were EXTREMELY tired at the end of the day and we were kind of blur and acting stupid like we had brain damage...i guess we just didnt realise how dangerous it was to be out in the open when the government had issued a warnign to stay indoors. we cant be blamed anyway, since we didnt know, and there was just nowhere else to do the present.
i shall cut short on the details and say that our visit to rasa sentosa was very brief. we were just at the reception for abt half an hour, took a few picutures with mr lee and his bride, and with mr choo, who came late by the way, and then we were off...back to the mainland again. i guess it should stand as a personal record of 'the shortest time spent in sentosa'.
i cant say much about mr lee's wedding since i din go for the dinner. but i can say alot about vivocity. it's huge, but most of the shops are high end. think guess, gap, naf naf, topman and you get the idea. dont go for the time being because 40% of the shops are still closed and there are very few food outlets. wait instead for the dec 1 grand opening. but perhaps i should go check out the gv there, it's singapore's biggest cineplex. not bad.
and i will comment about the haze that day, it was just so bad. we couldnt even see clearly about 50m from us, everything was very hazy and blur...it was the worst haze day this year and well, i guess i'll just remember the 'genting' view that it gave us, the acrid smell and the brain damage it caused me.
more photos the next time, the stupid blogger photo uploading thing is lagging again...
