chinese new year, the annual pigging out festival and money collection frenzy. to be very honest, i dont care much for the 'catching up with family' mantra that people always spout. to be even more honest, brutally even, there are some family members who i'd rather not see, since all you get is a false smile and even more false interest in your mundane and boring life. why would i care if you went to Shanghai last year and the weather was terrible? let me get on with it.

i always held to the belief that chinese people are damn smart. besides inventing the compass, paper, gunpowder and mahjong, they invented the red packet so that kaypoh aunties and uncles could bribe young children to go to their houses and inform them about which primary they are in now. to add a futher incentive, they invented bak kwa and pineapple tarts to seal the deal. haha. chinese people.

so anw, the past two days were quite boring, just normal boring visitations. but i went to watch Just Follow Law yesterday, which was quite funny, to give it credit. i would say better than the Best Bet and other nonsensical Jack Neo slapsticks. today was slightly more interesting. i went with the councillors to mrs goh's house and after that i went to David's house for a littly cny party, which dragged on so late i decided to leave earlier to do my stupid KI homework.

anw, i had a very random thought on my way back. i suddenly wondered to myself what if my mother died? i know, very inauspicious, especially on the third day of chinese new year. but then i realised that it was a really scary thought and i realised that i would be utterly devastated if i lost my mother. i guess im a mama's boy, no shame in that. mummy's the best! so i shall be extremely nice to mum. God bless mum, and dad as well!
