sadly though, it ended with the chem paper...
here's a breakdown of the papers:
GP
alright, i admit, GP is my favourite subject, but only because of the essay. i hate comprehensions...and this time around, i got lucky for the compo because i read an essay with a similar question in the KS bull, so i did have some material for content beforehand. however, im not sure if my answers are persuasive enough. here's the question: "to what extent do you think singapore has its own unique culture". quite an ok question. the compre paper was a killer tho...haiz...wad the hell is "impetinent" anyway?
Econs
the second paper, and i more or less screwed up the essay by choosing the difficult question over the easy question. the first essay question was on market and government failure, which were extremely easy topics phrased in a very tricky way such that i got freaked out and chose the more difficult elasticity topics which i didnt really study very hard for. hopefully. it will work out for the best...
Bio
everybody hates bio, i think even edubooks hates bio, simply because there's so much to study. i shudder to think about how thick the notes will be for a levels. i seriously will start freaking out! and who was to know that enzymes would come out in an 8mark essay question? why did they do that? i was expecting the genetic diagram to come out. thankfully there was the question on natural selection leading to new species forming that went quite well. mcq was a bit tricky but not too bad also.
Maths
i cant believe im saying this, but maths was my favourite paper of the promos. haha. perhaps because i really studied very, very hard. also, RJ's maths papers are (in)famous for being very very easy compared to other colleges. (Alicia Chew, personal communication, Sept 2007). except for a few careless mistakes here and there, and the total abandonment of the P&C question, this was my best maths paper in recent history! hopefully the optimism will translate into results. haha.
Chem
psycho freak show of a paper. ultimate killer and destroyer. dont want to talk about it. enough said.
But like any good essay, there has to be two sides to the story. so while this post is quite negative, hopefully by the time the results are back there will be some postive things to write about. haha.
in other news, i went to pepper lunch after school yesterday to 'celebrate' the end of promos with the class. while it was technically a 'celebration', not many people were in the mood to celebrate, save for shuli, but that's because he 'found the chem paper very easy'. and i swear im never going back to pepper lunch again, at least not in ngee ann city. when i gave the cashier a $50 note. she went, "wah lao, 又是50,搞什么。。。" in my face! and starting sulking and abusing the cash register. she was horribly sucky, and im never going back again. not to mention the food was quite lousy and overpriced.
still, i am still quite happy that i went to orchard. i was thinking of going there after promos for some shopping (my wardrobe is in a state of despair). and i did go down after promos, but i didnt buy anything coz i didnt want to spend the $40 worth of $5 bills the sulky cashier from pepper lunch gave me as change. anyway, wait for Mother to take me shopping, she's been meaning to go for the longest time. and yes, i still go shopping for clothes with Mother, because she has a larger bank account than i do. haha.
BBQ for the Game On! finale is today. i have to go to church early to prepare for the bbq. i would have stayed at home and slept though, but church is more important that forty winks. i shall go off for lunch soon then head off to church.
