nearly got dragged into doing last minute guard duty on saturday, thank God for Geok Woon, who decided to do it in the end. very irresponsible planning by a commander resulted in a very unhappy and unfortunate situation. the mood was quite bad today.
gotta complain about OC again. today we booked out at 9pm. it was totally, unnecessary, unwarranted and uncalled for. after two weekends staying in, the least one could do to raise the morale of the company is to give an early bookout. can't understand the rationale of some of the decisions made. can't be bothered to already.
went for two interviews this past week. the first was a tea session at moe and the second, an interview at nus. i really enjoyed the nus interview. two very intelligent ladies asking very interesting questions about thailand, about the government, etc. it was by far the most enjoyable interview that i've had so far. visiting nus that day really made me want to start school NOW. the army is an intellectual desert. not that i'm highly intellectual myself, but i feel that i should really be putting my brain to work for fear of it degenerating.
POP next week. i can't say that i can't wait. it's not like i'm going to be posted out to be a clerk or something. so it's no big deal really. can't believe i made it all the way to POP week. weird feeling...
oh, and Mas Selamat was captured!!! but don't be too happy. in this age of instant information beamed worldwide via satellite, cable, wireless and whatever nonsense they've invented, we've only found out about it SIX WEEKS later. why was such a big piece of information not revealed once received? it's very fishy. what is the 'credible lead' that led to his capture? how did he manage to escape to malaysia? by swimming? there needs to be answers, it's not enough to simply accept the news that he's caught and assume singapore is safe and secure from now on.
